Paula’s picks | nov 2023

This month focuses on straightforward essentials – no groundbreaking items, just reliable products that get the job done. As always you can shop my picks and so much more from on my Amazon Store.

what i’m using

  • ELF COSMETICS 16-HOUR CONCEALER: In an upcoming episode of season 2, set to drop in just two weeks, Luca Mornet and I have a candid conversation about acne and our savvy strategies for gracefully navigating breakouts when having to film or attend events. I take a moment to introduce you to my newfound obsession, ELF 16-Hour Camp Concealer - an absolute game-changer, the $7 marvel. It effortlessly glides on, stays fresh all day, and never falls prey to the dreaded eye creases.

  • STICKY GRIPPY SUCTION PHONE CASE MOUNT: Luca and I discussed the importance of leaving your apartment and filming content outside if you want to become a content creator or increase your following. He suggested a gadget called the Sticky Grippy, which adheres to any surface. I quickly purchased one, and it's amazing! While I don't have the confidence to film myself on the streets alone, I use this device all over my house for filming, at the gym for workouts, and even in the shower to listen to music or podcasts.

  • LUMINEX TEETH WHITENING STRIPS: I'm often asked about my teeth, and I love sharing my tips for keeping them white. I've tried every product on the market, and my favorite is Lumineux . It's gentle on enamel and doesn't cause sensitivity, and it leaves my teeth looking naturally white, and not fake.

    what i’m wearing

  • TIBI ACID ICEBERG JEANS: Raise your hand if you're so grateful that baggy jeans are in this season! I know I am, and these Acid Iceberg Jeans from Tibi are special and so chic. I'm obsessed with the cut and the way they taper in slightly at the ankle. I wore them with the Mile Asymmetrical Sleeve Shirt from the same brand.

Here are some additional styling tips:

    • If you're wearing the jeans with a chunky knit sweater, tuck the sweater into the jeans to define your waistline.

    • If you're wearing the jeans with a blazer, choose a blazer that is fitted in the waist and hits at the hip.

    • If you're layering the jeans under a coat or puffer jacket, choose a coat or jacket that is fitted in the shoulders and hits at the hip or thigh.

    • If you're dressing up the jeans with a turtleneck and heels, choose a turtleneck that is fitted and heels that are simple and elegant.

  • LUXE VINTAGE MAVEN BOMBER JACKET: I know it's weird that our phones are always listening to us, but I'm not mad about it in this case. I saw this jacket on Instagram and it was an instant yes for me. I loved it so much that I wore it for a promo photoshoot last week, and check out how amazing it looks. I'm also really impressed with the quality, considering it's so inexpensive. Sometimes, Instagram just gets us, right?

The Maven Cropped Bomber can be styled in a variety of ways, depending on the occasion. Here are a few ideas:

    • For a casual look: Pair the jacket with a high-waisted skirt or jeans and a t-shirt or tank top. Add sneakers for a comfortable and stylish look.

    • For a more dressed-up look: Pair the jacket with trousers and add heels or boots for a polished and put-together look.

    • For a transitional look: Layer the jacket under a coat or puffer jacket on colder days. Remove the outer layer when it warms up.

  • NAADAM POINTELLE BUTTON DOWN: The color, the fit, the feel, everything on this Naadam Cashmere Pointelle Button Down is absolutely perfect. It's a splurge item, but I have a secret: I use Rent the Runway unlimited which allows me to wear designer clothes for a fraction of the cost. They carry the most incredible brands like Naadam, Tibi, simkhai and more. For 30% off your first month, use this link.

Here are a few specific outfit ideas:

    • For a brunch with friends: Pair the Naadam Cashmere Pointelle Button Down with a skirt and boots. Add a statement necklace for a stylish and effortless look.

    • For a night out on the town: Pair the Naadam Cashmere Pointelle Button Down with black skinny pants and heels. Add a bold clutch and a bold gold hoop earrings to dress it up.

    • For a work meeting: Pair the Naadam Cashmere Pointelle Button Down with tailored slacks and a blazer. Add a pair of flats or pumps to complete the look.

    • For a casual day at the office: Pair the Naadam Cashmere Pointelle Button Down with jeans and a cardigan. Add a pair of loafers or sneakers to complete the look.

    what i’m listening to

  • I’ve Had It Podcast: I hope you don't judge me, but one of my favorite games to play is "What do you hate?" Essentially, it involves going around in a circle and discussing the things we well…HATE and that's pretty much what this show is all about. I'm obsessed with “I’ve Had It” and the hosts Jennifer Welch and Angie Sullivan. There's something incredibly validating about commiserating with others, helping you realize that you're not alone in hating gender reveals or bad baby names (just to name a few!). This is without a doubt my go-to podcast when I need a good laugh. These women are hilarious and relatable, and I can't help but wish they were my BFFs.

what i’m reading

  • The Karma of Success by Liz Tran: "The Karma of Success” by Liz Tran is a thought-provoking journey into the intricate web connecting personal growth, achievement, and the influence of positive energy. Even though I'm not usually drawn to 'woo-woo' subjects, this book struck a chord with me on a profound level. I wholeheartedly endorse this book for those seeking a high-vibe life.
